Huskies Earn USTFCCCA Academic Honors

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's cross country team was named a U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic team for the 2021 season. In addition, three student athletes earned All-Academic Athlete honors this season.
Mia Nahom (New Milford, Conn.), MS in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology, Chloe Thomas (Dundas, Ontario), Molecular and Cel Bio, and Melissa Zammitti (Charlotte, N.C.), Foundations of Public Health were named to the USTFCCCA academic honors list. Overall, there were 114 women from 58 different institutions who were named All-Academic Athletes for their efforts during the 2021 season.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.
As a team, the Huskies posted a 3.736 grade point average to earn team academic honors. Overall, there were 168 different programs who were named All-Academic Teams for their efforts during the 2021 season. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
