WSOC Hosts DePaul and Butler on Women's Weekend

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team (6-5-1, 2-3 BIG EAST) hosts a big home weekend with dates against DePaul on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. and Butler on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m.
The Huskies will welcome home many alumnae on Sunday's game against Butler as part of UConn Women's Weekend, which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Title IX and commemorating the strong legacy of UConn Women's Athletics since its inception in 1974.
The weekend kicks off a home stretch for the Huskies with four of their last five games being played at Morrone Stadium. UConn is currently tied for sixth place in the BIG EAST standings with six teams advancing to the BIG EAST Championship at the end of the year.
Jada Konte paces the UConn offense with 11 points (T4th BIG EAST) and four goals (T4th BIG EAST) while Abbey Jones is tied for the league lead with four assists.Â
UConn is 7-1 all-time against the Blue Demons with DePaul winning last season's matchup, 1-0, in Chicago. The Huskies are 4-0 at Morrone Stadium against the Blue Demons.
Katie Godden leads the Blue Demons with 11 points and four goals which ranks T3rd and T4th in the BIG EAST.Â
The Huskies enter Sunday with an 0-3 record against Butler with the Bulldogs eliminating the Huskies in the last two BIG EAST tournaments. Sunday's meeting will be the first trip to Storrs in the all-time series.Â
Katie Soderstrom leads the Bulldogs and the BIG EAST with 16 points and six goals on the year.Â
