STORRS, CT – The No. 13 UConn FH team (9-4, 4-1) rolled past BIG EAST opponent Villanova University (8-6, 1-4) on Friday afternoon.

The Huskies and Wildcats remained scoreless through the first quarter of the game. Julia Bressler, the freshman from Pennsylvania, quickly put the Huskies on top, 1-0, two minutes into the second quarter.

The game remained at a standstill through the third quarter, with the Huskies dominating possession. Freshman, Juana Garcia, was able to tip the ball into the goal on a beautiful pass from Natalie Brown with about eight minutes remaining in the game. Bressler solidified the win three minutes later with another goal of her own, and her sixth on the season, making the final score UConn 3 – Villanova 0.

Cheyenne Sprecher posted another shutout for the Huskies, totaling four on the season. Sprecher tacked on another three saves during the match, adding to her impressive record-breaking career at UConn.

The Huskies will wrap up their five game homestand on Sunday, October 16th against Boston College at 1 p.m. at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex. The game will include a pregame ceremony honoring Diane Wright and Nancy Stevens, both former coaches of the team, as well as alumni who have returned for UConn's Women in Athletics Weekend.
