Huskies Set For BIG EAST Road Trip

STORRS, Conn. - Â The University of Connecticut women's volleyball team is set for a two-game road trip to face Georgetown and Villanova. The Huskies will face Georgetown Friday October 28 beginning at 5pm, and will travel to face Villanova Saturday, October 29 at 7pm.
UConn enters the weekend on a five-game winning streak, posting an 11-10 overall record and a 5-5 record in conference play. The Huskies are coming off a 2-0 week in which they sept both Providence and Butler in three sets.
Leading the way for UConn is senior Caylee Parker with 259 kills. Parker is averaging four points per set and is averaging three kills per set. In addition to Parker, senior Jasmine Davis has 225 kills, and is averaging three kills per set. Senior Madi Whitmire has been a steady presence for the Huskies, as she has 776 total assists on the season while averaging 10 assists per set.
Heading into the matchup vs. the Huskies, Georgetown is posting an 4-17 overall record and a 2-8 record in conference play. Leading the way for Georgetown is Mary Grace Goyena. Goyena is currently averaging four points per set to go along with three kills per set. UConn and Georgetown have faced 11 times in the team's history, with UConn leading the series with eight wins.
Heading into Saturday's matchup vs. UConn, Villanova is posting an 6-1-6 overall record and an 2-8 record in conference play. UConn and Villanova met one time earlier this season, which resulted in a 3-1 match victory for the Huskies. Leading the way for the Wildcats is Rose Crist with 232 total kills, and Riley Homer with 214 total kills. Both Homer and Crist are averaging three points and kills per set.
