Women's Lacrosse Announces 2023 Captains

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn Women's Lacrosse team announced their three 2023 captains on Monday, October 31st. The captains include defensive graduate student #17 Julia Ozimek, graduate student goalkeeper #15 Landyn White, and senior midfielder #25 Maddy George.
Julia Ozimek
Ozimek started in all 18 games as a senior in 2022, and has started in 55 total games during her career at UConn. She's recorded 71 ground balls, caused 55 turnovers, and recorded 78 draw controls in four seasons with the Huskies.Â
Landyn White
White was named Inside Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention, IWLCA All-Northeast Region First Team, BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year, and All-BIG EAST First Team in 2022. She's played in 43 games for the Huskies with a 45.6% save average over the past three years. White has won 27 games and caused 23 turnovers for UConn.
Maddy George
George was named All-BIG EAST Second Team and started in 18 games as a junior in 2022. She's recorded 53 ground balls, caused 29 turnovers, recorded 100 draw controls, and started in 36 games with the Huskies over the past three years.
The UConn Huskies will start their 2023 season in mid-February, with a schedule announcement to come.
