LOWELL, Mass. – The UConn Huskies fall to UMass Lowell in overtime by a final of 3-2. Chase Bradley and Nick Capone were the goal scorers for the Huskies, while Carl Berglund of UMass Lowell scored the game winner for the River Hawks.

UMass Lowell opened the scoring 58 seconds into the game as Carl Berglund was left alone in front of the net on a breakaway. Following the goal, sophomore Logan Terness tightened up and stopped all other shots faced. The River Hawks outshot the Huskies 13-12 in the first period and entered the period break up by one goal.

The Huskies would find the equalizer early in the second period as Chase Bradley followed his own shot and found the back of the net on the rebound. Following a UConn penalty, as UConn made the kill and the skater was coming back into play, UMass Lowell scored to take the 2-1 lead. UConn spent a majority of the period on the penalty kill as the Huskies would be called for four penalties. UConn eventually found the equalizer once again, as Tristan Frasier found Nick Capone who fired it past Gustavs Davis Grigals for the goal. At the end of the period, shots were even at 24, and both teams would head to the break tied at 2.
