No. 6 Huskies, No. 20 Maryland to Battle on ABC Sunday

STORRS, Conn. – The sixth-ranked UConn women's basketball team (7-1) faces another tough road test as the Huskies travel to No. 20 Maryland (8-3) on Sunday at 3 p.m. The game will air on ABC and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (97-9 ESPN).
The Terps are the fifth top-25 opponent for the Huskies so far this season. UConn has gone 3-1 against ranked opponents so far this season.
UConn is playing on ABC for the third straight Sunday. The Huskies have three games on FOX scheduled later in the season as UConn has six games on major network channels during the regular season.
UConn held on to beat Princeton, 69-64, on Thursday evening. Redshirt junior Aubrey Griffin set a new career high with 29 points while shooting 100 percent from the field. Griffin tied Rebecca Lobo for the most consecutive made field goals (11-11) in a game. Griffin also added 10 rebounds. Graduate student Lou Lopez Sénéchal has recorded eight straight double-digit point games to start the season and scored 18 vs. the Tigers.
UConn is 7-0 all-time vs. Maryland. The teams last met on Nov. 19, 2017, in Hartford, a 97-72 win for the Huskies. This is UConn's first time in College Park since the 2016-17 season. UConn and Maryland have each been ranked in every matchup between the teams. This is the first time UConn is not a top-three team when facing Maryland.
Maryland is coming off a 77-74 win over Purdue on Thursday. Shyanne Sellers scored the game-winning three pointer in the final second of the game. This season, Diamond Miller leads the Terrapins with 18.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Head coach Brenda Frese is in her 21st season at Maryland.
