Washington, DC – The UConn Softball team heads to Georgetown for a three game series this weekend.
The Huskies (12-10) are coming off a sweep of St. John's and a 3-0 start in conference play. UConn's pitching staff will look to keep their momentum going into this weekend as they only let up one run in three games against St. John's. The Huskies offense was also cliquing on all cylinders scoring 24 runs on 25 hits. UConn was led by a pair of Seniors, Reese Guevarra and Sami Barnett. Barnett led the team with a .556 batting average driving in three runs with five hits. Guevarra, who took home BIG EAST Player of the Week was the Huskies main source of run production. She drove in a team high six runs and scored four runs.
The Georgetown Hoyas (10-11) are coming off a win against Creighton this past weekend. The Hoyas are coached by fellow Husky great, Pat Conlan. In her time at UConn, Conlan was an All American and led the Huskies to four BIG EAST Tournament titles. She was a key piece in the 1993 College World Series team and remains one of the best players to ever wear a Husky uniform.
The Huskies will kick off the three game series on Friday at 5:00pm. The second game will be on Saturday, at 11:30am followed by the series finale on Sunday at 12:00pm. All games will be streamed on Georgetown's website.
