HookC Faces UC San Diego To Close Road Trip

SAN DIEGO - The UConn baseball team (12-3) will close out its eight-game, 11-day spring break trip with a three-game series at UC San Diego beginning on Saturday, March 19 at 9 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. PT.
The Huskies are 3-2 on their trip thus far with a series win at Pepperdine and a 7-1 win at No. 25 USC. UConn is looking to bounce back after a loss to Long Beach State on Wednesday night.
Austin Peterson enters Saturday with 44 strikeouts on the year, ranking second in the country. The UConn pitching staff is currently fourth in the nation with a 2.01 ERA.
Ben Huber has been cooking at the plate for the Huskies with three home runs in the last five games. The UConn first baseman is tied for the team lead with 12 RBIs.
The Huskies enter the weekend 10-2 on the road this season, ranking second in the country with 10 road wins (Rutgers, 11).Â
Erik Stock just had his 25-game hit streak snapped on Wednesday night but has reached base safely in every game this season and leads the team with a .417 AVG. He has reached base safely in his last 26 games.Â
