HookC Takes Series Opener, 19-2, vs. URI

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 25 UConn baseball team (16-4) scored a season-high 19 runs en route to a 19-2 series opening victory against Rhode Island on Friday afternoon at Elliot Ballpark.
Ben Huber (2-4, 4 RBI), Bryan Padilla (3-4, 3 RBI),  T.C. Simmons (2-4, 4 RBI) and Erik Stock (2-4, 2 RBI) all homered in the victory.

Austin Peterson moved to 4-0 on the season with 6.0 innings of one run ball that included zero walks and 11 strikeouts.Â
Every UConn starter scored at least one run included Ben Huber, who scored a season-high four runs.Â
Casey Dana walked four times in the game as part of a season-high 11 walks for the Huskies.

Braden Quinn earned his first career save with a career-high 3.0 innings out of the UConn bullpen.
UConn will resume the series tomorrow at 1 p.m. on the road in KIngston, R.I.
