STORRS, Conn. - The No. 25 UConn baseball team (17-5) captured a series win against Rhode Island with a 4-1 victory in the series finale.

Matt Donlan provided a spark with his bat and defense on Sunday by throwing out three Rams baserunners on the bases and providing an RBI double. With the Huskies leading 3-1 in the sixth inning, the Rams placed runners at first and second with no outs. The UConn catcher then fired behind the runner at second on a missed bunt attempt and gunned down the runner to change the complexion of the inning. Reliever Ian Cooke used the momentum to get out of the inning unscathed.

Erik Stock helped the UConn offense with a three-hit game that included a solo homer in the third inning. It is the fourth-straight game that the UConn center fielder has homered in.

UConn utilized small ball in the fourth inning with a bunt single from T.C. Simmons and infield single from Donlan. Bryan Padilla advanced Simmons to third on a fly out to center. With one out, David Smith perfectly placed a bunt up the first base line that allowed Simmons to score and Smith to beat out to first base.

Enzo Stefanaoni earned the victory on the mound with 5.0 innings of work with just five hits allowed, one run, zero walks and four strikeouts.

Ben Huber provided a key insurance run with an RBI double in the seventh inning. Closer Justin Willis earned his fourth save of the season by recording the final five outs of the ballgame.

Next up, UConn will face Boston College on Tuesday, March 29 at 3:05 p.m. at Elliot Ballpark.
