No. 15 HookC Welcomes Villanova to Elliot Ballpark

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 15 UConn baseball team (30-7, 6-0 BIG EAST) welcome Villanova (14-18-1, 4-5 BIG EAST) to Storrs for the first time since 2010 with a three-game series at Elliot Ballpark beginning on Friday, April 22 at 6:05 p.m.

The Huskies enter the series riding a season-high 11-game win streak, their longest since the 2016 season.

UConn is off to its best start in conference play since 2017 with a home series sweep of Georgetown and road sweep against Seton Hall.

Last season, every BIG EAST team played four game series in conference except for Villanova. The Huskies took two of three in Plymouth Meeting to kickstart a nine-game win streak that helped UConn capture the BIG EAST regular season title.

UConn enters the weekend Top 20 in the country in multiple categories including fourth in ERA (3.04), fifth in triples (17), winning percentage (.811), strikeouts-to-walk (3.68), sixth in walks allowed per nine (2.78), eighth in shutouts (5), 10th in WHIP (1.22), 12th in hits (402), 14th in runs (318) and 17th in scoring (8.6).

The Huskies have been a clutch team in 2022 in terms of two-out runs and hitting with runners in scoring position this season. The team is hitting .326 with runners in scoring position, .297 with two outs and have totaled 113 two-out RBI.
