Coon, Watson Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors

NEW YORK - Following pacing the No. 14 UConn women's lacrosse team to a 2-0 week, seniors Grace Coon and Sydney Watson were recognized by the BIG EAST as each took in weekly honors, the conference released Monday.
Coon collected BIG EAST Attacker of the Week honors for the first time in her career, while Watson garnered her sixth BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week nod of the season.
Coon had a career day at then-No. 25 Yale last Wednesday, setting new marks with seven goals and seven points. The senior followed with a hat trick and an assist vs. Butler as the Huskies finished 8-0 in home games this season. For the week, she notched a league-best 10 goals and did not commit a single turnover.
Watson led the conference with a 16-point week and also won a league-best 21 draw controls. Watson produced a seven-point effort against the Bulldogs on four goals, three assists and added in 13 draw controls to start the week. In her final game at Morrone Stadium, she tied her career high with nine points on five goals and four assists.
UConn will head to Georgetown for its regular season finale on Friday, April 29 for 6:30 p.m. matchup that will be broadcasted live on FS2.
