No. 14 UConn Readies for Regular Season Finale Friday at Georgetown

STORRS, Conn. - With one more game left before the postseason, the No. 14 UConn women's lacrosse team will head to Georgetown for a 6:30 p.m. showdown on Friday, April 29.
Friday's game will be broadcasted live on FS2.
UConn is coming off a 22-15 win over Butler to cap its season undefeated season at home in program history with an 8-0 clip at Morrone Stadium. With a win on Friday, UConn would set a new program record with 14 wins in a season. The 2013 team set the program record with 13 wins.
The Huskies continued to climb in the national ranks, earning its highest ranking in program history by checking in at No. 14 in the ILWomen/IWLCA poll this week.
Seniors Grace Coon and Sydney Watson were named the BIG EAST Attacker and Midfielder of the Week on Monday. Watson earned her sixth weekly honor of the season, while Coon was the third Husky to be named the top attacker in the conference for the week along with seniors Lia LaPrise and Kate Shaffer.
Watson ranks seventh in NCAA history with 507 career draw controls, ranking behind Taylor Cummings (509) and Olivia Jenner (512). The senior is one of the elite players on the draw control in the nation as she ranks third in the NCAA with 9.8 draw controls per game.
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
Georgetown has taken two straight two-goal defeats to fall to 2-2 in BIG EAST games and 7-8 overall. Ali Diamond leads the team in goals (28), assists (18) and points (46). Emily Gaven has started all 15 games in net and ranks fourth in the conference in save percentage (.418) while holding an 11.2 goals against average. Liz Banks Campagna ranks third in the BIG EAST in draw controls per game (6.8).
THE SERIES
UConn trails the all-time series 5-18, earning just one of those wins on the road. The Huskies have had the upper hand recently though and are on a three-game win streak vs. the Hoyas.

The Huskies will await the seeding of the BIG EAST Championship. The semifinals will take place on Thursday, May 5 and the championship follows on Saturday, May 7.
