SHELTON, Conn. - The UConn women's rowing team had its best performance of the season as it won three-of-four races against Sacred Heart Sunday morning at Beacon Point Marine.
The V4 started the morning by crossing the finish line (7:37.0) over 14 seconds ahead of the Pioneers. The 2V8 added another victory (6:52.1) before the 3V8 (7:07.0) and 4V8 ticked in (7:23.6) right after as the Huskies went one-two in the final race of the day.
"I am happy to see the successful results in many of our boats today," said head coach Jennifer Sanford. "The weather conditions were perfect and it allowed each boat to really put what we have been working on in practice to the test. We will take a very focused approach to the next two weeks of practice to see how much more speed we can gain before the Dad Vail Regatta and the CAA Championship."
UConn will have a weekend off from competition before its final races of the spring in the Dad Vail Regatta (May 13-14) and CAA Championship (May 15).
