Four Huskies Earn IWLCA All-Region Honors

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Four members of the UConn women's lacrosse team earned IWLCA DI All-Northeast Region honors, the organization announced Thursday.
Seniors Sydney Watson and Landyn White were represented on the first team, while senior Lia LaPrise and junior Ariana Kline earned spots on the second team.
The IWLCA has honored 128 DI student-athletes in with a selection to one of the all-region teams for 2022. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will announce the 2022 All-American teams on May 26.
Watson earned her fourth IWLCA all-region honor after posting a stellar senior season, leading the BIG EAST in draw controls per game (9.2), points per game (4.7) and goals per game (3.4). The two-time BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year, Watson ranks fifth NCAA history with 516 career draw controls and owns every draw control record in UConn program history.
White picked up her second straight all-region spot after setting the program single-season win record in net (13) and leading the BIG EAST with 10.1 saves per game.
LaPrise continued to be a consistent force on the attack, ranking second on the team in points (62), assists (21) and is tied for third in goals (41). The senior is four assists away from breaking UConn's career assist record and has recorded at least two points in all 17 games.
Kline proved to be one of the dominant defenders in the BIG EAST and leads the Huskies in caused turnovers (25) and ranks fourth ground balls (23). She has caused at least one turnover in 14-of-17 games and is also a threat on the draw with 36 wins.
