Women's Rowing Battles at Dad Vail Regatta

PHILADELPHIA - With one final weekend of races left in the season, the UConn women's rowing team put forth a strong effort at the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta, held Friday through Saturday at the Schuylkill River.
The Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta is the largest collegiate regatta in the United States, with over 100 colleges and Universities from the U.S. and Canada. Thousands of student athletes gather to compete during the weekend of the second Saturday of May. Races began on Friday and continued through Saturday.
This weekend marked the second time the Huskies raced at the Schuykill River, as they previously competed at the Head of the Schuykill last October.
The V8 advanced to the grand final with a second-place finish in its qualifying race, clocking in at 06:42.087. The 2V4 won its second tier final with a time of 7:49.022, and the V4 came in second place in its final as well, ticking in at 07:30.427.
UConn will contend in the CAA Championships tomorrow on Sunday, May in Cherry Hill, N.J.
