NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - For the second straight year, senior Sydney Watson of the UConn women's lacrosse team has been named an IWLCA All-American, the organization announced Thursday.
Watson, who was named to the second team, was one of 48 student-athletes to be recognized on the IWLCA All-American teams.
Watson finished her storied career in Storrs as the program's all-time leader in career goals (205) and draw controls (526). She owns the single-season records for draw controls and shots, and holds the single-game records for draw controls and points.
A two-time Tewaaraton Award nominee and BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year, Watson was one of the best offensive midfielders in the nation as she led the Huskies in goals (58), points (81) and draw controls (166).
This season, Watson was a six-time BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week and led the conference in goals per game (3.2), points per game (4.5) and draw controls per game (9.2).
Watson becomes the second two-time IWLCA All-American in program history, joining Lauren Kahn (2013-14).
