HookC Faces Wake Forest To Open NCAA's

COLLEGE PARK, MD. - The UConn baseball team (46-13) will face off against Wake Forest to open the NCAA Tournament on Friday, June 3 at 1 p.m. on ESPNU.
The Huskies are coming off a BIG EAST Tournament Championship that featured the Huskies giving up just four runs in three contests and only had to use six pitchers.
Austin Peterson will get the nod on Friday and leads the Huskies with a 10-2 record with 100.2 innings pitched and 129 strikeouts. Peterson was named a Collegiate Baseball Second Team All-American on Thursday.
The Huskies are playing in its 23rd NCAA Tournament, their eighth since the 2010 season and fourth-straight.Â
UConn has a 35-45 record all-time in the NCAA Tournament and a 13-15 record since 2010 including a Clemson Regional title in 2011.
The Huskies are 4-7 all-time against the Demon Deacons with their last matchup coming in Winston Salem, N.C. in 2015.Â
The winner of Friday's game will play the winner of Maryland-LIU on Saturday at 7 p.m. The loser will play an elimination game on Saturday at 1 p.m.
