HookC Wins College Park Regional, Advances to Second Super Regional

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The UConn baseball (49-14) defeated No. 15 Maryland, 11-8, to win the College Park Regional and advance to its second Super Regional in program history.
Matt Donlan earned Most Outstanding Player in the Regional after hitting a grand slam in the first inning to cap a six-run opening frame.Â
Ian Cooke made his first NCAA Tournament appearance and pitched 4.2 solid frames giving up just two earned runs.
Ace Austin Peterson came out of the bullpen and earned his 11th victory of the season with 2.1 innings of work.Â
Bryan Padilla recorded a three-hit night including an RBI double in the fourth and RBI single in the eighth.
The Huskies set a program record with its 49th win and reach its first Super Regional since 2011.Â
