WSOC Battles No. 19 Georgetown Thursday Night at Morrone

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team (5-3-1, 1-1 BIG EAST) battles No.19 Georgetown (6-1-3, 2-0 BIG EAST) on Thursday night at Morrone Stadium at 7 p.m.
The top two scoring offenses in the BIG EAST go head-to-head with the Huskies and Hoyas each scoring 20 goals this season which ranks first in the conference.Â
Jada Konte ranks fourth in the league with her nine points on the season while Konte and Maddie Carroll are in a log jam tie for fourth with three goals scored. Midfielder Abbey Jones is tied for the BIG EAST lead with four assists on the season.
Gia Vicari and Henley Tippins lead the offense for the Hoyas with Vicari second in the conference with 11 points and Tippins first in the BIG EAST with 1.67 goals per game.
The Huskies lead the BIG EAST Conference in attendance with an average of 1592 fans per match and overall leader with 4777 fans attending the Huskies three home matches this season.Â
UConn is 12-5 all-time against the Hoyas but the last 10 meetings have been dead even, 5-5, with the Huskies winning last year's matchup, 1-0, on a Lucy Cappadona goal in the 58th minute.Â
Thursday's night game is part of Jersey Night with fans 18 years old or younger getting free admission to the game if they are wearing a jersey.
