STORRS, Conn. - The No. 10 UConn field hockey team (3-1) travels to No. 24 Delaware on Friday, September 9 at 5 p.m. for a non-conference tilt.
The Huskies are coming off a road weekend against a pair of Top-10 opponents. UConn fell to No. 8 Rutgers, 1-0, in overtime but rebounded with a 2-0 victory at No. 7 Harvard on Sunday.
Frances Carstens scored her first goal as a Husky and Morgan Kaufmann delivered her second career goal to seal the Huskies first road victory of the year.
With her shutout on Sunday and scoreless sheet entering overtime on Friday, UConn goalkeeper Cheyenne Sprecher earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors.
The Huskies and Blue Hens face off for a second-straight season after UConn grabbed a 2-1 home victory last season. Claire Jandewerth and Erica Solomen both tallied goals to give the Huskies a come-from-behind victory.
Friday's contest is the third game in the midst of a season-long five-game road trip that spans three weekends.
