Karaban Named BE Freshman Of Week For Fourth Time

NEW YORK โ UConn redshirt freshman Alex Karaban has been named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, as the league announced its weekly awards on Monday.
It is the fourth time this season that Karaban has won the award, previously being named on Nov. 14, Nov. 21 and Jan. 2.
The Huskies' forward scored 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds, with an efficient 5-of-9 shooting, including 3 of 4 from three-point range as UConn topped Butler, 86-56, on Sunday at the XL Center. He also added an assist and a steal to his solid performance.
For the week, Karaban (Southborough, Mass.) averaged12.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, shot 44.4 percent overall and 54.5 percent from three-point range.
UConn returns to action on Wednesday, playing host to nationally-ranked Xavier at Gampel Pavilion (6:30 p.m., FS1).
