»The UConn Huskies will head to Worcester Mass. to begin a home and home series against Holy Cross on October 13. The Huskies will then return to Storrs to host the crusaders for the home opener at Toscano on October 14.
» The Huskies return plenty of offensive power from last season. The Huskies returned 222 total points from last season which ranked 8th amongst NCAA Division I teams.
» The Huskies return 4 of their 5 top goal scorers as well as their top offensive defenseman Andrew Lucas.
» Captains for the 23-24 season are Hudson Schandor and Jake Flynn while Alternate Captains are Harrison Rees and Andrew Lucas
» Matthew Wood is back after a successful freshman campaign. The sophomore became the highest draft pick in program history this past summer as he was selected with the 15 overall pick by the Nashville Predators.
» The last time these two teams faced off was in 2014 when the Huskies split a home and home series. The Huskies won on the road 5-0.
» The UConn Huskies make their first appearance in the national rankings, checking in at No.20 following a 1-0-1 weekend at Colgate.
» New faces for the Huskies: UConn welcomed 7 newcomers to Storrs CT... 5 freshman and two transfers. In the group of 7, three are NHL Draft picks (Muldowney, Richard, Haider).
» The Huskies youth was on display against Colgate. Matthew Wood and Samu Salminen both finished the weekend with two goals, while freshman Jake Richard and Joey Muldowney both pitched in assists. Additionally, Richard scored his first career goal to force OT.
» Heading into the season, senior Captain Hudson Schandor is tied for second in the NCAA with 8 game winning goals. Meanwhile senior captain Andrew Lucas ranks in the top ten in the NCAA in Points and Assists by active Defenseman.
» New transfer senior goaltender Ethan Haider ranks in the top 10 in the NCAA amongst active goaltenders in games played, wins, goals against average and shutouts.
» Holy Cross is coming off a win over LIU opening weekend and are receiving votes in the national polls. » The Crusaders are an experienced group, returning 19 players from last season.
