Huskies Set for Home Matchup Against No. 17 Creighton

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's volleyball team is set for a home BIG EAST matchup against No. 17 Creighton Friday night.Â
The Huskies now on a two-match winning streak look to extend it to three standing at 7-14 overall and 2-7 in BIG EAST play. Last time out, UConn won in four sets over Providence last Wednesday, Oct. 18. Leading the way for the Huskies all season has been the play from sophomore Emma Werkmeister with 237 kills and 156 digs. Junior Doga Kutlu also rounded out her 14th double-double this season against Providence putting up 41 assists and 12 digs. Additionally, freshman Grace Maria racked up seven service aces against the Friars, which is a single-game team high this season.Â

Entering the matchup, the Bluejays stand at 15-4 overall and 6-2 in BIG EAST action. Last time out, Creighton swept Villanova in three sets on Saturday, Oct. 15. Leading the way for the Bluejays is outside hitter Ava Martin with 260 kills this season. Martin also leads in the digs category with 135 digs.Â
