WTEN Wraps Up Fall Season at Elon Invite

ELON, N.C. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team competed in the two-day Elon Invite last weekend for the final tournament of the fall season going up against tough competition in Coastal Carolina, Elon, and UNC Asheville.
UConn highlighted the invitational with a shared women's doubles champion accolade as the UConn pairing of Olivia Wright and Victoria Matos put up eight points along with the Coastal Carolina doubles pairing of Anna Babayan and Jesse Hollins. The women's singles champion accolade went to Coastal Carolina's Nicole Abel as Abel finished with 16 points on the weekend.
Wright and Matos had a 2-1 record with solid wins in the first flight over Elon's Sibel Tanik and Lizette Reding going 6-4 and UNC Asheville's Linge Steenkamp and Ari Siegel also going 6-4.
Overall, the Huskies secured 11 wins among the three competing teams to round out the final invitational of the fall season.
