» The UConn Huskies will open the 23-24 season on the road as they travel to Hamilton New York to take on Colgate.
» The Huskies return plenty of offensive power from last season. The Huskies returned 222 total points from last season which ranked 8th amongst NCAA Division I teams.
» The Huskies return 4 of their 5 top goal scorers as well as their top offensive defense[1]man Andrew Lucas.
» Captains for the 23-24 season are Hudson Schandor and Jake Flynn while Alternate Captains are Harrison Rees and Andrew Lucas
» Matthew Wood is back after a successful freshman campaign. The sophomore became the highest draft pick in program history this past summer as he was selected with the 15 overall pick by the Nashville Predators.
» The last time these two teams faced off was in 2021 in Hartford CT at the XL Center. That matchup ended in a 6-2 victory for the Huskies.
» The UConn Huskies enter the weekend unranked however have received the most votes among non-ranked teams heading into the first weekend of play.
» New faces for the Huskies: UConn welcomed 7 newcomers to Storrs CT... 5 freshman and two transfers. In the group of 7, three are NHL Draft picks (Muldowney, Richard, Haider).
» Heading into the season, senior Captain Hudson Schandor is tied for second in the NCAA with 8 game winning goals. Meanwhile senior captain Andrew Lucas ranks in the top ten in the NCAA in Points and Assists by active Defenseman.
» New transfer senior goaltender Ethan Haider ranks in the top 10 in the NCAA amongst active goaltenders in games played, wins, goals against average and shutouts.
» The Huskies are set to face a tough experienced Colgate team. The Raiders are the defending ECAC champions and return 20 players from last year's championship team.
» The Raiders finished last season with a 19-16-5 overall record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
