MBB Announces Opening Night Details, Banner Unveiling

STORRS – As part of opening night festivities on Nov. 6, the UConn men's basketball team will unveil its 2023 National Championship banner at Gampel Pavilion in a pregame ceremony. The banner unveiling is presented by KeyBank. For fans who are unable to attend the game, the full video of the ceremony will be posted on UConn+ and on the UConn social media channels.
With tip-off against Northern Arizona set for 6:30 p.m., UConn Athletics is suggesting that fans be in their seats by 6 p.m. to not miss a moment of the banner ceremony. Doors to Gampel will open at 5 p.m. The first 2,500 fans in attendance on Monday night will receive a commemorative National Championship banner rally towel.
Part of the festivities will include a one-of-a-kind, synchronized night Drone Show presented by Miller. The show will happen outside and will take place 15 minutes after the conclusion of the game. Fans will be able to watch the show from the Sherman Family Sports Complex, as well as on the sidewalks on Hillside Road (in front of the Student Union) and on Fairfield Way. Fans are asked to not block any active roads while viewing the show. The Drone Show is weather permitting.
