SB falls to North Texas on day two of the Buzz Classic

ATLANTA, Ga. – The UConn Softball team (1-2) lost to the North Texas Mean Green (3-0) 10-2 on Saturday morning.
Hope Jenkins (1-1) started in the circle in game one for the Huskies. She went five innings notching two strikeouts. Meghan O'Neil came in relief for Jenkins in the fourth inning pitching one inning for the Huskies.
North Texas jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the second inning. They would extend their lead to 8-0 in the fourth inning.
Jana Sanden would drive in the Huskies first run of the game in the bottom half of the fourth inning with a single up the middle to score Savannah Ring.
North Texas added two runs to their lead in the sixth to make it 10-1. Grace Jenkins produced the last UConn run with a solo home run (2) in the bottom half of the sixth.
Game two of the day was canceled due to heavy rain in the forecast.
UConn's final game of the Buzz Classic on Sunday against St. Francis has been canceled due to forecasted rain and scheduling. The Huskies will be back in action next weekend as they travel to Gainesville for the T-Mobile Tournament.
