UConn Set to Face University of Rhode Island

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team is set to face University of Rhode Island on Thursday, Feb. 23 at Magic Lincer Tennis Club in Manchester, Conn.
Entering the matchup, UConn stands at 4-2 overall in the 2023 season with two-straight wins this past weekend. They won 6-1 against Stony Brook last Friday and 4-0 against Drexel on Sunday.
Last time out, the Huskies looked strong in both doubles play and singles play by getting out to an early lead and playing an aggressive style of tennis. Second doubles pair, Isabel Petri Bere and Aleksandra Karamyshev went 2-0 in doubles taking a 6-4 win in both doubles matches against Stony Brook and Drexel.
In singles play, Maria Constantinou went 2-0 in singles play at the third singles spot first taking a 6-2, 7-6 win against Stony Brook and then clinching the match against Drexel with a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
Scouting the Rams
Heading into the matchup, Rhode Island is 4-3 overall this season. The Rams split this past weekend winning 6-1 against Providence on Friday and dropping the match against Quinnipiac on Sunday by a final score of 4-3. Last weekend, Valentina Cvakkova and Sophie Herrman went 2-0 at first doubles taking a 6-4 win over Quinnipiac and a 6-3 victory against Providence.
First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST on Thursday.
