Huskies Set for Matchup vs. UMass to Close Out Regular Season

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team is set to close out the regular season with a matchup on the road against UMass before the Big East Conference tournament on April 19-23 in Cayce, S.C.
After breaking even with two huge Big East matches in Xavier and Butler, UConn stands at 9-9 overall and 3-4 in conference play. Last weekend, the Huskies dropped the match on Friday against Xavier 6-1; respectively, and won the match against Butler 5-2 on Saturday.
Last time out, Aleksandra Karamyshev went 2-0 in singles play at second singles defeating Xavier's Kat Lyman 6-1, 6-2 and then also going 6-1, 6-2 against Butler's Delaney Schurhamer. In doubles play third doubles pair, Maria Constantinou and Doga Selen Takunyaci won both matches winning 6-1 against Xavier and 6-4 against Butler.
Scouting the Minutewomen
Entering the matchup, UMass is 10-4 overall. Last Saturday, the Minutewomen won 4-0 against Saint Joseph's. Highlighting the match was Melissa Senli as Senli and first doubles partner, Mariya Krasakova won 6-1. Senli then added a 6-4, 6-0 win to the day at first singles.
First serve between UConn and UMass is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, April 12 in Amherst, Mass.
