UConn Set for First Round at Big East Tournament Versus #11 Seton Hall

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team is set to face the first round in the Big East Conference Tournament against No. 11 seed Seton Hall at the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center in Cayce, S.C.
Entering the postseason, UConn claims the sixth seed with an overall regular season record of 10-9 and a Big East record of 3-4.
The Huskies ended the regular season in winning fashion as they took down an Atlantic 10 Conference foe, the UMass Minutewomen. UConn got the upper hand on Wednesday, April 12 with a 4-3 nail-biting win; snapping the eight-year losing streak to UMass.
Last year at the 2022 Big East Tournament, the Huskies advanced past the first round beating Villanova 4-0, respectively. UConn then faced a tough St. John's team as the Red Storm won 4-0 in the quarterfinals.
Scouting the Pirates
Heading into the matchup, Seton Hall rounded out the regular season with an overall record of 6-13 and a conference record of 0-6. Last regular season match on Friday, April 14, the Pirates fell to St. John's 7-0.
Seton Hall made a first-round appearance last season in the tournament but fell to Creighton 4-1.
No. 6 UConn takes on No. 11 Seton Hall at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 20.
