#6 UConn Challenges #3 Creighton in Big East Quarterfinals

CAYCE, S.C. – The University of Connecticut women's tennis team prepares for No. 3 seed Creighton in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament tomorrow, April 21.
With the win today, the No. 6 seed Huskies take an 11-9 overall record into the quarterfinals round against the 15-7 overall Creighton Bluejays. Earlier this season, Creighton took a 5-2 win against UConn during spring break on Mar. 10 in Orlando, Fla.
The Huskies will look to repeat their strong performance in the first round of the Big East Tournament shutting out Seton Hall 4-0. Maria Constantinou closed it out for UConn with her second-consecutive clinch for the match going 6-4, 6-4.
Scouting the Bluejays
Heading into the matchup, Creighton automatically advanced to the quarterfinals with their higher seed at No. 3. The Bluejays finished off the regular season losing to Wichita State 4-1 last Saturday. Malvika Shukla gave the Bluejays their lone point of the day at the first singles position going 7-5, 0-6, 6-4.
