No. 9 HookC Wraps Up Home Slate vs. Butler

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 9 UConn baseball team (36-11, 11-3 BIG EAST) wraps up its home portion of the schedule with a three-game BIG EAST series against Butler (11-38, 4-11Â BIG EAST) beginning Friday, May 12 at 6:05 p.m. Saturday will begin at 2:05 p.m. and Sunday will wrap up with a 12:05 p.m. first pitch. All three games will be on UConn+ and MIXLR. Saturday's game can be hear on 97.9 FM ESPN Hartford.Â
Friday night will be Military Appreciation Night with free camo fanny packs and hats. Kids will also be able to run the bases and get autographs post game. On Saturday, it is the Nine Innings of Winnings with tons of different prizes to be won such as a UConn blanket, Yeti, Speaker and much more. The first 1,000 fans will get a HookC rally towel. On Sunday, it is Senior Day and Mother's Day at Elliot Ballpark with BINGO bobble head and pennant giveaways, as well as kids running the bases and getting autographs post game. The Huskies enter the weekend riding a season-long seven game win streak that has featured five-straight victories in the BIG EAST. UConn holds a slim half-game lead over Xavier with six games remaining in conference.Â
UConn is 6-0 all-time against Butler including a road series sweep in Indianapolis last season. The Huskies are set to host the Bulldogs for the first time at Elliot Ballpark.Â
The Huskies have already clinched a big to the four-team BIG EAST Championship that is set to begin in just under two weeks at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio. The tournament is a double elimination format with the first game starting on Wednesday, May 24.
Last time out the Huskies beat Hofstra, 9-7, without first baseman Ben Huber and second baseman/outfielder David Smith,in the lineup due to injury. The Huskies have been without Huber for the past nine games while Smith missed his first game on Wednesday.
The Huskies enter the final weekend at home 48-8 all-time at Elliot Ballpark and have a 14-3 mark in Storrs this season.Â
