Cross-Country Announces 2023 Schedule, Men Also to Compete in Regular Season

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut cross-country schedule has been announced for the 2023 season beginning on Sept. 1.Â
The men's program will officially compete in the regular season but with ineligibility in any postseason action following limitations in Title IX regulation. Those participating are Zach Barry, Kevin Cawley, Kabir Chaven, Sam Geisler, Chris LePore, Nikita Omelchenko, Alec Sauter, Mahamed Sharif, and Stephen Sutton.Â
Both teams will kick off the season at the Suffolk Short Course Classic in Boston. There will be a second race in Boston at the Battle in Beantown on Sept. 29. Â
There is a total of four races before the BIG EAST Championships get underway on Oct. 28 in Kenosha, Wis. Then, the rest of the postseason will follow after the conference championships that feature NCAA Regionals on Nov. 10 in New York City and then NCAA Nationals on Nov. 18 in Charlottesville, Va. Â
Last season, the women's program finished third in the BIG EAST Championships in Attleboro, Mass with a total team time of 1:45.49 in the 6k.Â
