Cross Country Set for Battle in Beantown

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's cross country team is set for the Battle in Beantown hosted by Boston College at Franklin Park in Boston Friday.
The women will compete in the 5k race for their third meet of the season in a 20-team field. Last time out, the Huskies finished with strong results at the Providence Friar Invite.Â
UConn finished second overall in the final team standings with a scoring order of 2-7-9-11-12=41. Individually, Chloe Thomas placed second among 31 finishers with a time of 14:03.2 Also, Jenna Zydanowicz and Caroline Towle took Top 10 finishes as Zydanowicz had a 14:28.3 time and Towle finished with a 14:41.4 time. Although Providence won in the final team scoring with a 1-3-5-6-10=25; UConn was the only team to have seven runners place in the Top 15, beating out the three other competing teams in Providence, New Hampshire, and Stony Brook.Â
