STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's hockey team is set to kick off their 2023-24 season on the road with a two-game series against no. 11 Penn State beginning Friday September 29.
The Huskies are coming off another successful season which finished with an 18-13-4 overall record and a 12-11-4 record in Hockey East action. UConn will return an experienced group led by graduate students, Coryn Tormala, Cam Wong, Ainsley Svetek and Clair Peterson in addition to welcoming an incoming class of seven athletes which also features Merrimack transfer Alexa Pongo.
The Huskies' experience should suit them well as they return a majority of their offensive firepower. Jada Habisch once again looks to be one of the Huskies top goal scorers, while sophomore Brooke Campbell looks to build off a successful rookie season. Picked to finish fourth in the Hockey East preseason poll, the Huskies look to outperform expectations once again.
