The UConn Huskies will begin a home and home series with #17 New Hampshire. Huskies will welcome the Wildcats to Toscano Friday, January 19, and will travel to Durham for Sunday Jan. 21.
» The Huskies are coming off a 1-1 weekend in which featured an upset shutout over the #7 Maine Black Bears.
» Huskies in the NHL: Yan Kuznetsov became the 6th Husky to reach the pros, having most recently been called up by the Calgary Flames. Kuznetsov joins, Todd Krygier, Cole Schneider, Max Letunov, Adam Huska, and Tage Thompson as former Huskies to make it to the league.
» UConn welcomed back one of their top scorers in Matthew Wood as Team Canada was knocked out of play by Czechia at the World Juniors. Wood finished the tournament with two goals and two assists in 5 games.
» Wood is the 6th Husky under Head Coach Mike Cavanaugh to play in the prestigious tournament, and the first to play for Team Canada.
» Sophomore Jake Percival has found his stride on the offensive end after registering a goal in 4 of the last 6 games.
» Fellow Sophomore Tom Messineo has made an impact on the offensive side of the ice as the defenseman has dished out 5 total assists over the last four games.
» Chase Bradley leads the team with eight goals and 7 assists. The line of Bradley, Schandor and Wood have been one of the most productive lines for the Huskies, registering a total of 42 points.
» While captain Hudson Schandor hasn't consistently found the back of the net, the senior has made an impact in other areas. Schandor currently leads the team with 10 assists and sits second in total points with 13 and has won 53% of his faceoffs.
» This will be the first time the two teams face off this season. Last season, New Hampshire won the regular season series, taking 2 out of 3 games from UConn.
