» The UConn Huskies return to action to take on the Northeastern Huskies. UConn will travel to Matthews arena Friday evening before returning home to Toscano Saturday.
» Senior day: The Huskies will be recognizing 8 seniors before Saturday's game. 2 grad-students Harrison Rees and Jake Flynn, and then Seniors, Matt Pasquale, Ethan Haider, Hudson Schandor, Andrew Lucas, John Spetz and Nick Capone.
» The magic number lately for the Huskies is two. When scoring 2 goals or fewer against Hockey East opponents UConn and UMass lead Hockey east with 5 total wins.
» The Huskies are coming off another 0-2 weekend after falling to #2 Boston University.
» Senior Captain Hudson Schandor's presence has been felt on the offensive side of the ice. Schandor is currently tied for second on the team with 17 points and is a team leading +10 on the season.
» Playoff seeding up for grabs. With three regular season games remaining for the Huskies, playoff seeding is still up for grabs. UConn is currently tied with Vermont for 8th place in Hockey east but trails Northeastern by 3 total points.
» The Huskies will face their first non-ranked opponent in 7 weeks. Despite being unranked, Northeastern has been one of the hottest teams in the country, receiving votes in the National Polls.
» This will be the first matchup between the Huskies this season. Last season, Northeastern won 2 of the 3 matchups including the Frozen Fenway event.
» Sophomore class finding their stride. The Huskies 2nd year skaters have taken the leap as Jake Percival, Ryan Tattle, have seen an uptick in goals, while Tristan Fraser, Tabor Heaslip, and defenseman Tom Messineo continue to make an impact by setting up their teammates for goals.
» Huskies in the NHL: Yan Kuznetsov became the 6th Husky to reach the pros, having most recently been called up by the Calgary Flames. Kuznetsov joins, Todd Krygier, Cole Schneider, Max Letunov, Adam Huska, and Tage Thompson as former Huskies to make it to the league.
