Track & Field Finishes Strong at Crimson Elite and Scarlett and White Invitational

Crimson Elite Final Results | BU Scarlett & White Invitational Final Results
BOSTON – The University of Connecticut men's and women's track & field teams collected strong results in a two-meet weekend at the Crimson Elite and the Scarlett & White Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
The Huskies performed well over the two days of competition as the teams split squads at Friday's meet and Saturday's meet. In total, there were 16 top-five finishes for both programs along with seven first-place results and six personal bests.
For the men, senior Terrel Williams had an explosive personal record in the 60-meter hurdles running a first-place time of 7.70 seconds at the Crimson Elite Invite. Also at the Crimson Elite, junior Travis Roux earned a big personal best in the weight throw finishing with a first-place result of 20.54m. At the Scarlett & White Invitational, senior Kasey Savage was just shy of breaking his personal best in the triple jump leaping a first-place result of 15.10m. Then, following that up in the event would be senior Joron Harrell who finished with a personal best of 15.03m taking second place.
For the women, junior Natalia Surdej placed first at the Crimson Elite Invite with a huge personal record of 19.25m. Then, senior Jasmine Barrow would round out a strong first-place result in the triple jump of 12.76m for her third first-place finish of the indoor season.

The Huskies look ahead to a four-meet weekend with the Valentine Invite, BC Invitational, Yale Invite, and the Tyson Invite in Fayetteville, Ark., on Friday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10.
