Brooklyn Taylor Earns Spot on Team Canada for World U20 Championships

STORRS, CT - UConn rising sophomore Brooklyn Taylor competed at the 2026 Canadian U20 Track & Field Championships at Terry Fox Athletic Facility in Ottawa, Ontario over the weekend and took home a pair of medals as well as earning a spot on for Team Canada at the World U20 Championships in August.

The Alliston, Ontario native set a new personal best time in the 100m hurdles on Saturday night, clocking in at 13.36 seconds to finish second in the event, claiming a silver medal as well as a spot on Team Canada. Taylor will next compete in the event at the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, OR on August 5-9.

On Friday night, Taylor won the gold medal in the long jump, besting the field with a leap of 5.84m.
