Huskies Set to Face First BIG EAST Matchup This Season Saturday

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team hosts the first BIG EAST matchup this season against Xavier at Magic Lincer Tennis Club in Manchester, Conn., on Saturday, Feb. 10
Entering the matchup the Huskies are 4-1 overall. Last time out, UConn secured the 4-3 win over Quinnipiac at home to keep its three-match home win streak alive. Leading the way for the Huskies thus far is junior Isabel Petri Bere as Petri Bere has compiled a 4-0 record in singles at the second and third singles spot. Also, in doubles play, Petri Bere and freshman Caroline Hinshaw are unbeaten with a 5-0 record at the second and third doubles spot.
Scouting Xavier
Heading into the matchup, the Musketeers are 3-2 overall this season. Last time out, Xavier won 5-2 against Indiana at home on Sunday, Feb. 4. Leading the way for the Musketeers is Emily Flowers with the team-high singles record of 4-1 at the fifth and sixth singles spot.
UConn faced Xavier last season falling 6-1 in Cincinatti, Ohio. That was the first matchup between the two programs in program history.
