Huskies Fall to Boston University On the Road

BOSTON – The University of Connecticut women's tennis team fell to a tough opponent in Boston University, 7-0 at Winchester Tennis Club Wednesday afternoon.
The Huskies are now 7-5 overall. In doubles play, the Huskies played to clinch, so even with first doubles pair, Olivia Wright and Maria Constantinou up 5-3, second and third doubles finished first to give the Terriers the doubles point. Then, BU finished with six singles points; however, sophomore Cameron Didion didn't go down without a fight winning the first set 6-2, but BU's Emily Zhao won the next two sets, 6-4, 10-6.
"We played doubles to clinch, and Olivia and Maria were up 5-3 when the doubles point was decided," said tennis head coach Glenn Marshall. "In singles today, Cam was playing very well, but lost a tough 3-set match in a tiebreaker. Overall, this was not the result we were looking for, but we learned a few things that we need to focus on moving forward. The team is looking forward to playing some outdoor tennis next week in Georgia."
