HookC Resume Rivalry With St. John's in Storrs

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn baseball team (14-16, 2-1 BIG EAST) is riding a season-long four-game win streak entering its BIG EAST weekend series against red hot St. John's (22-5-1, 3-0 BIG EAST). The series begins on Friday, April 12 at 6:05 p.m. with game two at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday and 1:05 o.m. on Sunday. All three games will be streamed on FloSports and Saturday's game can be heard on Fox Sports Radio 97.9 FM & AM 1300.
Friday night's game will be $2 Beer Night at Elliot Ballpark with $2 Miller Lite's for fans age 21 and older (while supplies last).
St. John's begins the weekend in first place in the BIG EAST Conference after sweeping Villanova in Plymouth Meeting last weekend. The Johnnies have gone 19-1-1 in their last 21 games and are 6-0-1 in their last seven.Â
The Huskies have won five of its last six games and are averaging 10 runs per game during that stretch.  Luke Broadhurst is 10-20 (.500) during the stretch with two doubles, three homers and nine runs batted in. 1B Maddix Dalena is hitting .381 with four home runs and 10 runs batted in.Â
UConn started off BIG EAST play with a series win against Xavier last weekend. The Huskies rebounded from a series opening loss by winning 8-2 in game two behind 7.2 strong innings fro Garrett Coe and a 1-0 triumph on Sunday. RHP Stephen Quigley fired 7.0 shutout innings and Paul Tammaro delivered the winning run with a RBI single in the eighth inning.Â
