» After a one of the best seasons in program history, the Huskies are set to begin
the 2025-26 campaign on the road vs. Colorado College
» The Huskies have an experienced group returning, including top scorers Joey
Muldowney, Jake Richard, Ryan Tattle and Tabor Heaslip
» The matchup vs. Colorado College will be the second ever matchup between
these two teams, with the Tigers taking the first matchup by a final of 4-1 in
2015.
» The Huskies leadership group consists of Tabor Heaslip (Captain), with Joey
Muldowney, Ryan Tattle and Viking Gustafsson Nyberg serving as Assistant
Captains.
» Heading into this season, UConn was tabbed to finish 3rd in the Hockey East
Pre-Season Poll, and are sitting at 10 in the USCO and USA Today preseason
National Polls.
» Despite returning an experienced group, the Huskies welcome 7 talented
newcomers including 3 NHL Draft picks (Brendan Dunphy, Anthony Allain-
Samake, Alex Blais)
» Entering last season, the Huskies only had one 40-point scorer in the Hockey
east Era. They finished with 3 (Joey Muldowney, Hudson Schandor and Jake
Richard) following the Hockey East Tournament.
» The Huskies added experience to their coaching staff this offseason, as they
welcomed Alex Westlund as the team's new Goaltender coach following the
departure of Vince Staletti. Westlund has a plethora of experience most recently
working with the Detroit Red Wings (NHL).
» Huskies in the NHL: Marc Gatcomb has become the 9th Husky to reach the
pros, having most recently been called up by the New York Islanders. Gatcomb
joins, Chase Bradley, Ruslan Iskhakov, Yan Kuznetsov, Todd Krygier, Cole
Schneider, Max Letunov, Adam Huska, and Tage Thompson as former Huskies
to make it to the league.
