STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team (7-2-3) heads to No. 14 Georgetown on Saturday, October 11. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm and will be available to stream on ESPN+.
UConn snapped a two-game skid last Friday with a 3-0 win over Creighton. The Huskies scored all three of their goals in the second half, marking the fourth time this season UConn has netted three goals in the second half, all resulting in victories. The win pushed UConn to a 2-1 record in BIG EAST play this season. FULL STANDINGS
Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Durham is coming off a career game against Creighton, making ten saves in the win. Durham earned his second BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honors. Junior defender Ayoub Lajhar earned his first BIG EAST Defender of the Week honors, after recording a goal and an assist in UConn's win over Creighton. Lajhar's goal was his first tally of the season, and second game-winning goal of his career.
A Look at Georgetown
The No. 14 ranked Georgetown Hoyas are coming off a 2-1 loss to Denver on Tuesday, snapping a nine-game unbeaten streak since August 29. Georgetown is coached by Brian Wiese entering his 20th season. The Hoyas were picked to win the East Division in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll. Georgetown earned four Preseason All-BIG EAST honors for midfielders Zach Zengue, and Matthew Van Horn, defender Tate Lampan, and forward Mitchell Baker. Zengue was named to the Preseason MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, one of 29 players selected across the country.

Georgetown leads the all-time series, 14-17-4. The Hoyas have won seven straight matches dating back to the 2019 season. The last time UConn secured a win over Georgetown came during the 2012 season, when the Huskies earned a 2-1 road victory in Washington D.C. In a top-three showdown, UConn entered the match ranked No. 2 nationally while Georgetown held the No. 3 spot.
