STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's hockey team opens the 2025-26 season this weekend as the Huskies welcome St. Cloud State to the Toscano Family Ice Forum for a two-game series. Game one is set for Friday, September 26 at 6:00pm. The series will conclude on Saturday, September 27 at 3:00pm. All games will be streamed on ESPN+. TICKETS
UConn comes into the 2025-26 season ranked No. 12 in the USCHO national poll. The Huskies are coming off back-to-back Hockey East Regular Season Championships. UConn was selected to finish in first place in the Hockey East Preseason Coaches' Poll for the second straight year.
UConn returns the 2024-25 Hockey East Rookie and Goaltender of the Year in Claire Murdoch and Tia Chan. In total, the Huskies bring back 17 players from last year's roster, and welcome in 8 new faces to this year's team, 6 freshmen, and 2 transfers.
A Look at St. Cloud State
The St. Cloud State Huskies (2-0) are coming off a weekend sweep over Lindenwood to open their season. St. Cloud was ranked No. 13 in the USCHO national poll to begin the season. The Huskies are coached by Mira Jalosuo entering her first season. St. Cloud was picked to finish in fifth place in the WCHA Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Huskies bring back three of their top four scorers from a season ago.
Series History
The last time these two programs met was to kick off the 2018-19 season. UConn swept the two-game series in Storrs, winning both games, 3-2. UConn leads the all-time series, 4-2.
