Huskies Set to Host Annual UConn Invite at GreatHorse

STORRS, CT – The UConn golf team is set to host the annual UConn Invitational at GreatHorse this weekend in Hampden, Mass. The Huskies were the runner-up at last year's tournament and have won the event five times.
The 2025 UConn Invitational marks the 16th year of the tournament, formerly known as the Connecticut Cup and gets underway on Sunday, September 28. The three round tournament will play out over Sunday, Monday and Tuesday on a GreatHorse par-72 course set at 7,093 yards.
UConn will play host to Boston College, Bryant, Fairfield, Fairleigh Dickinson, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Merrimack, Providence, Sacred Heart, Siena, St. John's, Trinity, Rhode Island, and Villanova in this year's event. URI took home the team title at last year's tournament.
UConn's starting five for their home tournament will feature senior Connor Goode (Glastonbury, CT), sophomore Matt Costello (Taunton, MA), junior Bradley Sawka (Ellington, CT), sophomore Kai-Jun Huang (Taipei, Tawain) and freshman Brennan Korn (Scottsdale, AZ). The remainder of the UConn roster will play as individuals in this year's field.
The Huskies are two tournaments into their season, finishing fourth at both the Metropolis Invitational and The Goat to start the year.
Goode and Sawaka have the led the Huskies in the early season, both posting top-20 finishes in the first two tournaments. Goode, who got his first collegiate victory by winning the 2023 UConn Invitational at GreatHorse, has a 72.7 per round average and comes into the tournament off 10th place finish at The Goat last week.
Sawaka leads the team with a 72.3 per round average and has the highest finish of the season with a fifth place showing in the season-opening Metropolis Invite.
