No. 1 UConn Travels to Georgetown Thursday

STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn women's basketball team (19-0, 9-0 BIG EAST) travels to Georgetown (11-7, 4-5) Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in CareFirst Arena. The game will air on TNT/truTV and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97.9).
Sophomore Sarah Strong had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead UConn to an 85-47 win over Notre Dame on Monday. All five starters scored in double digits vs. the Fighting Irish.
Junior KK Arnold had 12 points and five assists and led UConn's defense that held Hannah Hidalgo to 5-15 shooting and the Irish to 36.5% shooting. The margin of victory (+38) was UConn's largest vs. Notre Dame in the series history.
Strong scored her 1,000th career point vs. Notre Dame. She reached the milestone in her 59th career game, making her the third fastest Husky to the milestone.
UConn is 57-6 all-time vs. Georgetown. The Huskies have won the last 40 meetings between the teams. The teams last faced off in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 11, 2025, a 73-55 win for Georgetown.
UConn graduate student Azzi Fudd's mother Katie played at Georgetown from 1998-01. Fudd is a native of Arlington, Va., and attended St. John's College High School in Washington, D.C. Freshman Kelis Fisher is also a DMV native from Baltimore, Md.
Georgetown will travel to Hartford on Feb. 26.
Georgetown beat Marquette, 63-54, last Saturday. This season, Khia Miller leads the Hoyas with 11.4 points per game. Head coach Darnell Haney is in his second season at Georgetown.
