» The Huskies are back in action for another ranked matchup as they are set to face-off
against the #19 University of Massachusetts beginning Friday Feb.27 on NESN.
» The Huskies are coming off an 0-2 weekend vs. #12 Boston College. The Huskies fell to
the Eagles by a final of 5-2 Friday evening and followed that up with an 2-1 OT Loss to
the Eagles Saturday in Hartford in front of 10k fans.
» This will be the first matchup between the Huskies and minutemen this season. Last sea-
son UMass took the season series with 2-0-1 with the UMass winning in the shootout.
» Senior Night: The Huskies will be recognizing their 7 seniors Friday night. This class
has accounted for 75 total wins in 4 years, just 3 wins shy of the record that Hudson
Schandor and John Spetz had. The seniors of Huston Karpman, Tyler Muszelik, Ryan
Tattle, Tabor Heaslip, Tristan Fraser, Tom Messineo, and Jake Percival also helped the
Huskies reach the programs first NCAA Tournament.
» Hockey Humanitarian Finalist: Senior Ryan Tattle has been named a finalist for the
Hockey Humanitarian Award. Tattle is one of five finalists named by the Hockey Hu-
manitarian Committee. This past winter break, Tattle hosted his 5th annual Score for
Cancer game. Following the completion of the game Sat. Dec. 20, Tattle has raised over
$180,000 for Cancer Research.
» Mike Richter Watchlist and Hobey Baker Candidate: Senior Goaltender Tyler Muszelik
has been named to the Mike Richter Award Watchlist and a Hobey Baker Nominee.
Muszelik is posting a 16-7-4 record with a .932 save % and 2.09 GAA.
» OLYMPIC GOLD: UConn men's hockey alum Tage Thompson won a gold medal with
Team USA in the winter Olympics this past week. Thompson is the first alum to represent
the Huskies in the Olympics for men's hockey.
» Huskies in the NHL: Marc Gatcomb has become the 9th Husky to reach the pros, hav-
ing most recently been called up by the New York Islanders. Gatcomb joins, Chase
Bradley, Ruslan Iskhakov, Yan Kuznetsov, Todd Krygier, Cole Schneider, Max Letunov,
Adam Huska, and Tage Thompson as former Huskies to make it to the league.
